Courtney Johnson has been proud to call Carver home since 2010. She was elected to the City Council in 2016 and began her four-year term on Jan. 3, 2017.
As a Council Member Courtney has been extremely engaged in working on behalf of residents of Carver. She has served as the liaison to the Carver Business Council, the Fire Board and the Planning Commission. Courtney has also represented Carver at events at Chaska Middle School West, groundbreakings and a visit to Granite Falls to learn more about the process involved in certifying their levy. She also attended walkthroughs for street improvement projects, the Fire Department's training for Council Members and Resident Advocate meetings.
Shortly after moving to Carver, Courtney became involved in the community through volunteering: She participated in what was then known as the Park and Recreation Board (now the Parks Commission) from 2011 to 2013, volunteered on the Steamboat Days committee from 2012 to 2015, and was appointed to the Planning Commission, where she served from 2014 to 2016.
After obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications from St. Cloud State University, Courtney has spent her career working in a number of communications roles including journalism, media relations, public relations and internal communications. She currently works as a social responsibility senior program manager at UnitedHealthcare.
Courtney shares her home with Zac Borncamp and their kitties. In her free time Courtney can be found running around Carver, playing BARGO, gardening, knitting, cheering on the Green Bay Packers and hanging out with family, including her nephews, Luke (8) and Landon (6).
